Deprem Pakistan ve Hindistan’ın yanı sıra Kazakistan, Tacikistan, Özbekistan’da da hissedildi. Gelen ilk bilgilerde depremin Pakistan’da gerçekleştiği ve 7.7 büyüklüğünde olduğu belirtilmişti.

Pakistan Radyosu ise depremin büyüklüğünü 8,1 olarak duyurdu. Depremin en şiddetli hissedildiği Kabil’de ve Pakistan’ın başkenti İslamabad’da halk panik halinde sokağa dökülürken, trafik kilitlendi.
Çok sayıda kentte elektrikler kesildi. Afganistan, Pakistan ve Hindistan’da resmi makamlar can kaybı yaşanıp yaşanmadığına ilişkin henüz açıklama yapmadı.
